I read an article tonight about dating, and it said this:
3. Be captivated
"I often tell my patients (not to mention family and friends) that finding and sustaining love is like acquiring a piece of art. We should wait to be struck and captivated. But all too often we walk around with our pre-crafted 'frame' — or idea of whom we belong with — desperately trying to fit someone into it.
"So in 2009, throw away your mental checklist of what you're looking for and keep a truly open mind—you might be surprised at who truly clicks with you."
– Ian Kerner, Ph.D., author of DSI: Date Scene Investigation
I have the idea of the perfect man for me in my mind and I do walk around looking for that person who will fit the mold, complete the picture.
I also am waiting to be captivated. I have been twice recently. But I don't have either of their phone numbers, nor do I know when (or if) I will see either of them again.
I'm just waiting, that's all I can do.
I just got all caught up on your blog. I love you and I miss you so much. I love reading your blog because you write so much of what I feel. I am a little jealous of you sometimes to be honest. You are such a blessing in my life, and I don't even think you know it. Thank you for being my friend. You do an awesome job at it. I'm praying for you.
